Curated, Formal, or Email out of the box. Write your own prompt for anything else. Choose one from the bar, or leave it on Auto: Latch applies a style when you name it out loud, and edits your selection when you have one.
Translate while you speak
Speak in your language, paste in another. The speech language is detected on every take, so switching costs nothing.
Edit what you selected
Select a paragraph and say “make this shorter” or “turn this into bullets”. The selection is rewritten in place.
Your clipboard stays yours
Latch borrows the clipboard for the paste and puts back what was there. Nothing you copied gets lost.

Questions, answered.
Which apps does Latch work with?
Any Windows app with a text cursor: Outlook or Gmail in the browser, Slack, Teams, Word, Notion, VS Code, a terminal. Latch pastes where the cursor already is, so there is nothing to integrate. The exception is an app running as administrator: Windows blocks other apps from typing into it, so Latch has to run as administrator too.
What happens to what I say?
Latch drops the ums, false starts, and self-corrections, fixes obvious slips, and keeps your meaning, names, and tone. It does not make you sound formal unless you pick the Formal style.
Which languages can I speak?
The speech language is detected on each take, so you can switch between languages without changing a setting. Add a Translate row for any language to speak in one and paste in another.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every account gets 60 recorded minutes a month with every feature. No card needed. Past 60 minutes you get a reminder, never a cut-off.
Is there a limit on how much I can dictate?
No monthly cut-off. To stop abuse, Latch pauses an account that sends more than 60 takes in 10 minutes or more than 6 hours of audio in one UTC day. Normal dictation never gets near that, and the badge tells you when to try again.
What does the $8 plan add?
No reminder, whatever you record. Same model and same features as free. About 10 hours a month is fair use: past that we send an email, and the account stays open.
Do you keep my audio or transcripts?
No. Audio and text pass through our server in memory for a single take and are dropped when the text comes back. We keep your account, plan, minutes used, and your style list.
Does it work on Mac or Linux?
Not yet. Latch is Windows only for now.
Does it work offline?
No. Each take is processed online. If the connection drops, the badge tells you and nothing is pasted.
