What you get
You press one chord. You get clean text.
- Select the word Latch got wrong in any app, click Custom on the badge, and type the right spelling.
- Latch replaces the wrong word in place and leaves the spaces and punctuation around it as they were.
- Nothing selected, as in a terminal? Pick the wrong word from the text Latch just pasted.
- Your words are used on every take, so names, products, and terms that sound like ordinary words come out as you wrote them.
- Manage the list in Settings, in the Dictionary tab: up to 200 words, each with the spellings it replaces. It follows your account to any PC.

Before you install
Questions people ask first.
- How does Latch know to use my spelling?
- Your words are given to the model with every take as the spellings to use, so a word that sounds like another one still comes out right. It is a strong hint, not a guarantee: check important text before you send it.
- What if the wrong word is an ordinary word?
- Custom warns you. If you teach Latch to write “Niplate” whenever it hears “new plate”, it may do that every time you say “new plate”. The word is still saved, and you can remove it in Settings.
- Do you store my dictionary?
- Yes, with your account, so every PC has it: the words you added and the wrong spellings they replace. Never the sentences they came from. You can delete any word in Settings.
- How many words can I add?
- Up to 200, each up to 4 words long.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. Every account gets 60 recorded minutes a month with every feature. No card needed. Past 60 minutes you get a reminder, never a cut-off.
- Do you keep my audio or transcripts?
- No. Audio and text pass through our server in memory for a single take and are dropped when the text comes back.
- How long does setup take?
- About a minute: run the installer, sign in from the badge, and press Ctrl+Win in any text field.
